WASHINGTON, Aug 18 (Reuters) - The U. S. imposed sanctions on Tuesday on the International Criminal Court's president and a senior trial lawyer at the court, Secretary of State Marco Rubio said.

The sanctioning of Court President Tomoko Akane of Japan is the United States' latest salvo against the Hague-based court. Washington also slapped sanctions on ICC Senior Trial Lawyer Abdoulaye Seye of Senegal.
