Cubs shortstop Dansby Swanson was placed on the 10-day IL after an early exit from the team’s loss to the Cardinals.

Swanson departed Sunday's game in the third inning after swinging at the first pitch he faced.

Swanson threw down his helmet after missing with his swing, looking as if he may have hurt his hand or wrist.
