CATANIA, Aug 14 - Flights at Catania airport in Sicily will remain suspended until early Saturday because of ash from Mount Etna's ongoing volcanic activity, which has forced hundreds of flights to be cancelled or rerouted over the past week.

Several flights were unable to take off or land at Tan Son Nhat International Airport in Ho Chi Minh City on Thursday evening after three kites fitted with flashing lights were spotted in the sky.

Etna erupts often, but it usually doesn’t release this much ash, an expert said. Tens of thousands of travelers’ plans have been disrupted in the past week.
