Conservation officers say RCMP weren't mistaken in shooting bear that attacked 3-year-old

The B.C. Conservation Officer Service is apologizing for causing confusion, saying that investigations have revealed RCMP killed the bear that attacked a three-year-old girl in Maple Ridge earlier this month.

A black bear shot and killed by RCMP officers after a toddler was attacked at her home in Maple Ridge, B.C., was, in fact, the animal responsible for the mauling, according to the B.C. Conservation Officer Service.
