Zambia closes courts on last day to file election challenge

LUSAKA, Aug 24 - Zambian authorities closed the country's top courts on Monday, blocking access to the premises on the last day that the opposition could file a challenge to this month's disputed election.

Zambian authorities sealed off the court grounds where an opposition leader is preparing to challenge the outcome of Aug. 13 elections, as the deadline for it to file a petition draws near.
