Yemen's Houthis claim attack on Aramco oil facility in Saudi Arabia

Yemen's Houthis said they attacked an oil facility Sunday in southwestern Saudi Arabia, in the latest attack by the Iranian-backed rebels on the kingdom.

The group's military spokesman Yahya Saree said the Houthis had "succeeded in targeting the Aramco refinery in Jazan with a drone, and the strike was precise".

Yemen's Iran-aligned Houthis claim a drone attack on a Red Sea Coast refinery in Saudi Arabia. Attacks from the armed group have increased since the 2022 truce seems to have been broken last month.

Aug 9 (Reuters) - Yemen's Iran-aligned Houthis said they had attacked Saudi Aramco's Jazan refinery on Sunday, two days after the kingdom signed a defence pact with Turkey and Pakistan. The Saudi energy ministry said a fire had broken out at the refinery that was later extinguished, without saying what caused the fire.

No casualties were reported after the flames broke out early on Sunday, the Saudi Energy Ministry says.

Earlier, the Saudi Arabian Energy Ministry said that firefighters extinguished a fire that broke out early at a facility at Aramco's Jazan refinery in southwestern Saudi Arabia.
