The Barcelona great, who won the 2010 World Cup with Spain as a player, has not held a head coaching job since leaving the Camp Nou in 2024.

Xavi last managed with Barcelona for parts of three seasons helping the Blaugrana to a league title and Spanish Super Cup.

The 46-year-old Spaniard has agreed a contract to lead the team through to the 2030 World Cup in Saudi Arabia.

It is the 46-year-old's first management job since his departure from Barcelona in the summer of 2024.
