WW3 fears erupt as NATO scrambles fighter jets during Russian attack

Russian drones crossed over the country's territorial waters during an attack on southern Ukraine.

Poland has scrambled two F-16 fighter jets to intercept a Russian Il-20 reconnaissance aircraft flying around 40km north of Kolobrzeg over the Baltic Sea, the country's defence minister has said.

Poland is investigating a possible missile impact site in the eastern Lublin region after an air raid alert was triggered during Russia’s massive overnight attack on Ukraine. Authorities found a crater near the village of Tarnawa-Kolonia but have not confirmed whether Polish airspace was violated.

The military response comes just days after three Russian drones were shot down after violating Romanian airspace.
