First responders are checking homes and buildings for possible victims of a powerful tornado that ravaged communities in northeastern Wisconsin

A 6.8 earthquake struck the southern Japanese island of Kyushu leaving dozens injured and causing extensive damage. First responders are now racing to save lives as authorities warn the public to remain vigilant. NBC News’ Matt Bradley has more.
