Wintry blast to bring snow, frost and rain

MetService said rain is likely for the central and upper North Island - including Auckland - on Sunday.

A wintry outbreak will bring snow to the South Island, cold southerlies to Wellington and potential frosts for the North Island next week.

Rain will give way to a cold front, bringing colder temperatures and frosts.

Residents of Ottawa and eastern Ontario are being warned that scattered thunderstorms could move through the area today. Environment Canada has issued a yellow watch – severe thunderstorm for the Ottawa area.
