Why did Trump’s CIA director make a mysterious short trip to Moscow?

Neither the White House or the Kremlin have offered an explanation for the first trip by a US spy chief to the Russian capital in nearly five years

Ratcliffe's visit was the first known trip to Russia by a CIA director since William Burns visited in late 2021.

The Kremlin said that John Ratcliffe did not meet President Vladimir Putin during the trip.

A Kremlin spokesman said John Ratcliffe did not meet with Vladimir Putin and that it was "premature" to say whether the trip would affect fraught U.S.-Russia relations.
