Whole Foods Market product recalls linked to U.S. salmonella outbreak: CFIA

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) has issued a recall of some Whole Foods Market brand products, saying they've been linked to a salmonella outbreak in the U.S. Various guacamoles, pico de gallos, salsas and prepared foods are part of the recall, issued Thursday.

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency says some Whole Foods Market salsas, guacamoles and prepared foods sold online in Ontario are being recalled due to possible salmonella contamination.

This comes after dozens of other products sold at multiple retailers were already recalled over the same peppers.

Whole Foods announced the recall of dozens of products, after 345 salmonella infections have been reported across the country.

The FDA and CDC, in collaboration with state and local partners, are investigating a multistate salmonella outbreak that has sickened hundreds.

Certain salsas, guacamole, pico de gallo and prepared jalapeño products at Whole Foods are among the products recalled over possible salmonella risk.
