Hundreds of mourners, including Irish musicians and entertainers, filled a Dublin cathedral on Tuesday for the funeral of Academy Award-winning singer-songwriter Glen Hansard, who died in a motorcycle crash last week aged 56.

The 56-year-old, who shot to prominence in 1991 musical comedy film The Commitments, died in a motorcycle crash last week.

The pair performed Song of Good Hope from Hansard’s debut solo album just after the singer’s wife, Maire Saaritsa, had addressed the cathedral.
