Volcanic ash forced a European airport to shut down during busy tourist season

Mount Etna's eruption sent ash clouds over Sicily, shutting down an airport and diverting nearly 200 flights during peak tourist season.

MORE flights are being cancelled across Europe today, after days of chaos. Since the weekend, Catania Airport has been forced to suspend all flights after the eruption of Mount Etna. But there's also disruption at another airport too as the ash cloud from the active volcano has now reached the Maltese islands. By midda
