The USS George Washington carrier strike group has arrived in the Middle East to replace the USS Abraham Lincoln, after reports of poor conditions aboard the long-deployed carrier.

The aircraft carrier has been deployed for nine months, largely in support of U.S. operations against Iran, and is now heading home to San Diego.

The Washington's arrival follows growing concerns about the Lincoln's extended tour, which included a record-setting uninterrupted stretch at sea of over 250 days

Several reports had recently surfaced over grim conditions aboard USS Abraham Lincoln. While Trump had dismissed the concerns, he said a swap would take place.
