The Pentagon has acknowledged that its 2025 operations in Yemen killed 153 civilians, including about 68 mostly Ethiopian migrants in an April strike on a Saada detention centre.

The Pentagon review focused on three airstrikes in April 2025 that were launched during the US campaign against the Houthis when the militants were attacking commercial ships in the Red Sea, a crucial global trade route.
