U.S. officials on Wednesday exposed a major alleged Chinese cyber-espionage campaign they say has compromised or attacked numerous federal agencies including NASA, the Federal Reserve, the departments of Justice and Energy and the US Senate.

The Justice Department (DOJ) announced Wednesday that it disrupted a Chinese hacking operation that targeted its network and other sensitive U.S. agencies.  The DOJ said in a statement that it seized hacking platforms “QScan” and “QTRouter,” which were operated by a state-run group employed by Chinese-based firm, Nanji

Chinese state-sponsored hackers infiltrated US government computer networks ranging from NASA to the US Senate.

The FBI has seized domains associated with a botnet that allowed Chinese-backed hackers to breach several U.S. government departments.

The US Justice Department said in a statement that the Chinese hacking operation used two platforms, dubbed ‘QScan’ and ‘QtRouter’.
