US recalls over 19 million eggs due to salmonella outbreak that has caused illness in nearly 100 people

The eggs were only distributed in a handful of states, while the salmonella cases have been reported in more than a dozen.

The massive multistate outbreak of cyclosporiasis has expanded to nine states, the Centers for Disease Control announced, as top health experts warn it is not yet under control. It comes as a salmonella outbreak linked to eggs is causing new concerns for consumers. NBC’s Anne Thompson reports for TODAY.
