US killed 153 civilians in three strikes on Yemen in 2025, Pentagon says

The U.S. military killed 153 civilians and injured more than 200 in three strikes in Yemen last year, according to a Pentagon assessment that offers new details about the civilian toll of the Trump administration’s campaign against Houthi rebels. The Pentagon has acknowledged that U.S. military operations killed more than 150 civilians in 2025. The count did not include any deaths from airstrikes on boats in the Caribbean Sea and Pacific Ocean.

The military operation was the first following Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth’s dismantling of an office focused on mitigating unintended casualties.
