BOSTON, Aug 18 - A federal judge on Tuesday allowed U.S. President Donald Trump's administration to end legal protections granted to over 5,000 Ethiopians that have allowed them to live and work in the United States.

About 400 Somali people in Minnesota have TPS. The end of the protection could lead to deportations, though a legal challenge continues.

Trump scored a major legal victory as a federal judge in Boston lifted a stay blocking the termination of Somalia's TPS designation.

The case is part of a broader effort by the Trump administration to roll back TPS for migrants from multiple countries.
