Rescuers rushed Monday to reach workers believed to be trapped in tunnels at hydropower sites buried in mud after catastrophic flooding in Nepal and China, as the death toll continued to rise and increasingly desperate families search for their loved ones.

KATHMANDU (NEPAL) - Nepali rescuers raced on Monday in a bid to free dozens of hydropower workers believed trapped in tunnels after devastating floods as search efforts entered a sixth day, officials said.

We spoke to Phurba Gyaljen Sherpa, president of the Nepal Mountaineering Association, about the survival chances of those trapped in the Trishuli-3A and 3B sites.

Most of the workers are trapped at four hydropower projects, with rescuers racing against time to reach those buried under debris in blocked tunnels
