More than 550 people were arrested at Notting Hill Carnival, police have said, and one man died following a chase with officers who stopped him entering the event.

Met Police confirmed on Monday night that the body of a man, thought to be in his 20s, was pulled from the water near Meanwhile Gardens.

The man was taken to hospital by ambulance and was pronounced dead a short time later, police have said.
