United Airlines announced Wednesday that it plans the largest international expansion in company history, with flights to 10 new cities added in 2027.

Flights to Okinawa, Ibiza, Luxembourg City, and 7 other cities will begin as early as March 2027, with 8 of the 10 routes departing from Newark

The new destinations are mostly across Europe, with one in Japan.

As tourism booms across Japan, United Airlines is continuing to expand its offerings to the country, with new routes planned for Okinawa and Osaka.

The new overseas routes represent the largest expansion in the airline's history, United said.

United Airlines said on Tuesday it expects enough Airbus A321XLR deliveries to support its European expansion next summer, as the carrier pushes into smaller markets and sees travel to the region staying strong into the autumn months.
