Ukraine's Zelenskyy makes first visit to Russia-friendly Serbia

Ukrainian President Zelenskyy is making his first visit to Serbia. His host, President Aleksandar Vucic, hopes to score points with the EU, while Zelenskyy seeks more arms from a country that remains Russia-friendly.

Zelenskyy confirmed the arrival on Friday on his official Telegram channel. The office of Serbia’s populist President Aleksandar Vucic had previously announced the visit late Thursday.

BELGRADE, Aug 7 - Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy arrived in Serbia on Friday for his first visit to the Balkan country expected to focus on economic cooperation and bids by both countries to secure European Union membership.
