A community radio station breached the rules after accidentally announcing the death of King Charles III in a May broadcast, a U.K. watchdog said on Monday.

Radio Caroline has been found in breach of broadcasting rules after it mistakenly announced the death of King Charles III.

Radio Caroline told Ofcom the error occurred when a member of staff accessed pre-recorded sound files.

A correction and apology wasn't aired until 30 minutes after the incident occurred.
