Two Tennessee college athletes were killed and seven others injured when a reckless driver crashed into a cycling team during their training ride Wednesday morning.

Milligan said Brayden Rogers and Haylan Engdahl were killed in the crash Wednesday. John Benfield has been charged with vehicular homicide.

Milligan University announced the death of two of its student-athletes after a driver drove into them on an early-morning training run. Authorities say the 69-year-old driver is now in custody and has been charged with vehicular homicide. NBC News’ Aaron Gilchrist has the details.
