Turkey is restricting commercial ship traffic into the Black Sea, according to people familiar with the matter, following growing concern from the government after an uptick in Russian and Ukrainian attacks on vessels in the area.

On August 3, a Ukrainian drone came down and exploded on a beach in the village of Arkhipo-Osipovka, part of Gelendzhik. At the time of the drone attack, people were on the beach and in the water and were not evacuated. Seven people were killed, including four children, and 40 people were injured. Local residents and t
