U.S. President Donald Trump is again aiming at limiting birthright citizenship, just over a month after the U.S. Supreme Court upheld the right.

President Trump on Thursday signed two executive orders aimed at curbing birthright citizenship. In June, the Supreme Court struck down a broader executive order meant to end birthright citizenship. CBS News legal contributor Jessica Levinson has more.

After his defeat at the Supreme Court, President Trump unveiled executive orders with narrower restrictions on birthright citizenship. The move is expected to face legal challenges. NBC News’ Gabe Gutierrez reports.

The orders come after the Supreme Court ruled June 30 that President Trump’s previous efforts to end birthright citizenship were unconstitutional.

The executive orders ban birth tourism and expand the existing definition of people whose children are not eligible for US birthright citizenship.
