Trump DOJ to deploy largest-ever fleet of monitors for midterms as president calls elections ‘rigged’

The president has repeatedly claimed elections are ‘rigged’ against Republican candidates — except for those they win, in most cases

Approximately 1,000 poll monitors are preparing to observe, ensure fairness, and follow up on investigations in the midterm elections.

The Department of Justice (DOJ) is planning to deploy 1,000 poll monitors during the midterm elections to ensure that several laws are upheld throughout the voting process.  DOJ has already deployed more than 75 monitors across five states and more than 200 polling locations this primary season, according to a release.

The Justice Department plans to send 1,000 monitors to watch voting during the midterm elections in November, a historic figure for a Republican administration, Assistant Attorney General Harmeet Dhillon said.
