President Trump said Hamas and his international "Board of Peace" have agreed on the next steps in a peace deal that includes Hamas' disarmament in the Gaza Strip.

Despite the ceasefire, violence has continued in Gaza, with Israeli strikes killing at least four people including two children on Thursday, according to health officials.

A member of its negotiating team said it was making “concessions... to save (Gazans) from killing and displacement”.

A Hamas official and a diplomat close to the Cairo talks said the progress would be tested by Israel's response and whether this allowed a broad accord to be reached.

CAIRO/WASHINGTON — U.S. President Donald Trump on Thursday said Cairo talks between mediators and Hamas leaders have led to a “HISTORIC agreement for the COMPLETE DISARMAMENT of Hamas” in what he described as structured phases.

The second phase of Donald Trump's 20-point peace plan for Gaza,  was Hamas's disarmament and a gradual withdrawal of Israeli forces from the territory.

The deal would see Hamas completely disarm itself and hand political and security control in Gaza over to international troops, a new Palestinian police force and a transitional government body of nonpartisan experts

There was no immediate comment from Hamas or Israel, and officials gave few details on the plan.
