The president’s comments to Punchbowl News come just days after Gov. Greg Abbott issued a statewide pause of approval for data centers trying to connect to the power grid.

President Trump touted what he said were the benefits of data centers in an interview that was published on Friday, potentially pitting himself against a number of Republicans and Democrats on the growing issue. “I saw Texas the other day sort of against data centers.
