Travel chaos across Europe as Italy, Greece and Hungary hit by fierce wildfires with thousands evacuated

Travel plans for around 1.6 million UK tourists heading to Italy were disrupted Rome, Milan, Venice and Naples hit by red alert. Greece helicopters fight fire despite midair crash which one Brit crew member miraculously survived.

The walkouts come hard on the heels of a demonstration on Sunday 26 July organised by the group Menys Turisme, Més Vida .
