A tornado tore through southwestern France, uprooting trees, damaging dozens of homes and causing transport chaos across the region.

About 2,800 households were left without power, with several roads blocked by the storm’s fury.

A powerful tornado caused severe damage south of Carcassonne, ripping up trees and roofs, with gusts locally reaching 117 km/h.
