Tip led to arrest of man accused of arson as wildfires ravage Washington, officials say

A man is under arrest for allegedly setting one of three major wildfires in the Spokane, Washington, area. Meanwhile, thousands have been evacuated from the area as fires rage. KREM reporter Regan Gallo has more.

There are three wildfires in the Spokane area that have forced 60,000 to be evacuated from their homes.

Authorities in Washington said late Monday that officers have arrested a 37-year-old man accused of starting a wildfire burning in Spokane County.

A 37-year-old Spokane, Washington, resident with a previous manslaughter conviction was arrested Monday in connection with largest of the region’s three wildfires, authorities said.
