The gregarious star of "The Rocky Horror Picture Show," who died Tuesday in Los Angeles at age 80, oozed an eccentric, ginormous personality that exploded off the screen and stage and inspired a passionate fandom spanning multiple generations.

In 2012, Curry suffered a serious stroke, from which, he said last year, “I’ve been recovering for quite a long time.”
