Tidö parties fail to close ground as Swedish opposition holds ten-point lead

With less than a month to go until Sweden's September 13th election, the governing parties are so far on the losing side. But a lot could still change.

STOCKHOLM, Aug 18 - Sweden's centre-left opposition holds a 10 percentage point lead over the ruling right-wing coalition ahead of a September 13 election, making a change of government likely, according to an opinion poll conducted on behalf of public broadcaster SVT.

A new poll has former Sen. Sherrod Brown (D) and Amy Acton (D) leading by narrow margins against their Republican opponents in the Ohio Senate and gubernatorial races. The survey, conducted by Wedgewood Polls, puts the Republican nominee Sen. Jon Husted (R-Ohio) behind Brown with 44 percent to his 48 percent.  Vivek Ra
