Thousands struggling without power in Indiana 12 days after severe storms

In the town of Gary, where a third of residents live in poverty, people say they have been living in "survival mode".

More than half a million people are without power across Poland and the Baltic states after a deadly storm swept through the area, killing two people.

Several days of powerful storms walloped northwest Indiana, killing at least seven people and displacing about 1,000. The storms brought record rainfall that flooded several communities.

Gov. Mike Braun called on the local utility to “match the urgency” of Gary area residents who have had to endure an outage approaching its second week.
