SSI recipients will see their first August payment early — here’s when to expect your check

Check your mailboxes because Supplemental Security Income (SSI) payments are heading to homes early due to a bit of a calendar quirk.

While most retirees have multiple income sources from things like pensions, savings, investments and more, 53% of senior citizens report Social Security as their primary source of income.

The August 2026 Supplemental Security Income payments, worth up to $994, will be sent to recipients in two days. SSI payments are typically issued on the first day of each month.
