Spotify asks creators to label songs when they’re AI-generated

The streaming giant says the move will give listeners more transparency as AI-generated music becomes harder to identify.

The new feature, starting from mid-September, will tell listeners if an artist is AI-generated.

Spotify's move comes as AI-generated music floods streaming platforms, with Deezer recently reporting that AI tracks accounted for more than half of all new daily uploads in June.

Users can now flag songs generated with AI—and not have them recommended to them through Spotify's algorithm.
