Second Halifax-area beach closes for season due to blue-green algae bloom

Another Halifax-area beach is packing it up early this season due to a possible blue-green algae bloom.

A MAN in his 40s has died after getting into difficulty while swimming in the sea off a popular UK beach. Emergency services were called to Blackpool Sands in Devon at 3.30pm on Monday, following concerns about the swimmer's welfare. Coastguards recovered the man from the water but pronounced him dead at the scene. HM.
