Saudi Arabia, Turkey and Pakistan have signed a defence agreement on Friday, Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry, deepening cooperation between the three regional powers at a time of growing security concerns.

"Saudi Arabia has a great deal of weaponry and a great deal of money, but militarily, it cannot manage to 'get through the day,'" said Brig.-Gen. (res.) Jacob Nagel.

The agreement treats an attack on any of the three countries as an attack on all. Saudi Arabia has recently faced drone and missile strikes that it has blamed on Iran’s allies in Yemen and Iraq.

The pact commits the three countries to collective defense, bringing together NATO's second-largest army, the Muslim world's only nuclear power and the guardian of Islam's holiest sites.
