Poland arrested a Russian national accused of planning, on Moscow’s orders, to assassinate a Ukrainian-American in Warsaw.

A Russian plot to kill a Ukrainian American citizen in Warsaw was thwarted by Poland before it could be carried out, the Polish prime minister said Thursday.

Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk said the suspect was allegedly recruited by Russia's secret services.

According to Segal, Health Minister Haim Katz told Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu about the plot, who then foiled it by breaking the co-conspirators apart and strategic promotions.

The assassin was working on behalf of the Russian intelligence services, says Prime Minister Donald Tusk.

Poland, a NATO and EU member state along the alliance's Eastern flank, has accused Russia of "sabotage" on several occasions since Moscow's full-scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022.

Poland said its security services prevented the assassination of a US citizen originally from Ukraine that was ordered by Russian intelligence.
