Russian attack on Kyiv triggers fires, officials say

Aug 11 - Russian forces attacked the Ukrainian capital Kyiv with missiles early on Tuesday, triggering fires in the city centre, officials said.

Ukraine is chronically short of air defense munitions, making it very difficult for air defense forces to intercept Russian ballistic missiles.

Russian strikes has killed three people, including a child, in a district northeast of Ukraine's capital, a regional military official said, as Kyiv warned of incoming ballistic missiles.
