Republican Holdouts Say They’ll Back Blanche After Assurances on I.R.S. Deal

Senators John Cornyn and Thom Tillis expressed support after Todd Blanche, the acting attorney general, issued a memo abandoning part of a deal the Justice Department had struck with President Trump.

Cornyn and Tillis had refused to back Blanche's bid for the permanent post without official confirmation killing the fund meant to compensate people who believe they were unfairly prosecuted by the Justice Department.
