RCMP recovers 392 vehicles set to be exported from Canada by organized crime

The estimated total value is $28 million in vehicles tracked to the ports in Halifax, Montreal, Toronto and Vancouver

Project NoCargo targets transnational organized crime networks using fake or stolen credentials to purchase vehicles insurance policies, a press release states.

The RCMP and Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) recovered 392 vehicles at marine ports with a total value of $28 million as part of a one-year pilot project targeting “vehicles obtained through fraudulent means.”
