Quebec lettuce growers operating at a loss amid U.S. cyclosporiasis outbreak

Approximately half of lettuce grown in Quebec is exported to the U.S, but stock is not being purchased.

This marks the fifth cyclospora investigation by the FDA since early July.

An outbreak of cyclosporiasis cases tied to recalled iceberg lettuce has been expanded to 15 states, the Food and Drug Administration said Wednesday.

Six states were added to the multistate outbreak since the last update -- Arkansas, Iowa, Missouri, Nebraska, New Hampshire and North Carolina.
