Pub unveils huge Jodrell Bank mural as campaign grows to save iconic telescope

The pub closest to Jodrell Bank is named in its honour - and has now unveiled a mural in tribute to the telescope just as news broke of its uncertain future.

The famous Joddrell Bank Observatory is reported to be facing closure. The scientific funding body that supports the eight-decade-old site in Cheshire hosting radio telescopes, is said to be considering cutting its funding.
