Portugal economy shows resilience with strong second-quarter growth

Portugal’s economy is expected to have expanded by 0.4% in the second quarter of 2026, outperforming many European peers despite continued uncertainty in the global economy.

The U.S. economy churned out another robust rate of growth in the second quarter even as the Iran war boosted inflation, but that might not be so readily apparent in the latest report on gross domestic product.
