Former greats from the global cricket community have appealed to Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to provide medical care to the nation’s ex-captain-turned-politician Imran Khan, who is in jail for the past three years for corruption and misuse of power.

Former cricket captains - including Sir Alastair Cook and Mike Atherton - have urged Pakistan to ensure jailed former prime minister Imran Khan receives "humane treatment and proper medical care".

A group of 21 former international cricket captains, including India’s Sunil Gavaskar and Kapil Dev, signed a letter to Pakistan’s government on Sunday regarding the healthcare of jailed former prime minister Imran Khan. Khan has been in prison since 2023 and was sentenced late last year along with his wife to 17 years

This is the former captains' second appeal to the Pakistan PM in six months
