Paxton unveils data center plan, joining other GOP candidates in calling for restrictions

Data centers have become a central issue in the battle for the Senate in the Lone Star State.

He also backed the DATA Act, a bill by Sen. Tom Cotton, R-Arkansas, that would let data centers build off-the-grid power systems exempt from federal regulation.

"They got the backlash they deserve," Greg Abbott said in an interview on ABC This Week. Less than a year ago, he wanted his state to be the "epicenter."
